From passion to vocation, he followed his natural path, from the sound of Hip-Hop beats that since have been mixed with so many other influences. Drek is far from the usual “egotrip”, constantly working off the vibe of the crowd. Born from humble beginnings in the south of France, he has made his mark in cosmopolitan cities all over the world - Paris, London, St. Tropez, New York, Los Angeles, Milan, Sao Paulo, etc. Drek performs in all the hot-spots where the night never ends, contributing that little something that makes a club THE place to be. The quintessence of his work blossoms authentically out of the mood, feelings, and emotions of the crowd. Drek conquers every obstacle, always with the same pleasure and determination: a strength, almost a trade mark. “You need inspiration to find your own.” Drek grew up with and evolved to the sounds of selections by DJ AM and Mark Ronson. He now plays with A-Trak, Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Calvin Harris etc. DJ in the most exclusive NYC clubs, each performance is unique and his style shines through. Drek also works as a producer on many personal projects and takes part in collaborations. He has remixed tracks by: MIA - Xxxo, The Game feat, Justin Timberlake and Pharell, Chester French, Nikki and Rich, and many more. Music crosses borders. It is DREK MARTINEZ’s passport.
