Description:
Orazio eats, drinks, and breathes electronic music. Born and raised in New York City, Orazio Rispo first started djing at the age of 13 making mixtapes for his friends and family. After his father brought back a collection of cds from Ibiza one summer, Orazio began to explore the electronic music genre that would capture him for the next decade. At 16, Orazio was given his first opportunity to play at New York’s legendary Wednesday night party at Serafina downtown for over 500 people. Not old enough to legally work, much less attend the venues he was hired to play, Orazio took trains back and forth from his New England school on the weekends to work in some of New York’s hottest nightclubs. Monday morning he was right back to being a sophomore in high school. At 17, Orazio already had residencies in New York and Europe which allowed the young DJ to expand his musical style and influences. As his exposure steadily rose, international bookings and private events ensued. By the age of 20, Orazio was working parties spanning from Brooklyn to Bombay, celebrity weddings like Wolfgang Puck’s in Capri to underground techno parties in Brooklyn. At 21, Orazio maintained high-profile residencies in Italy's VIP island Panarea and New York's 1OAK. After nearly a decade of intensely studying electronic music and playing alongside its various masters ranging from Benny Benassi, John Dahlback, and Felix the Housecat to Alexi Delano, Stephan Goldmann, and Willie Graff. Orazio is currently focusing on contributing his part to the electronic music community through original productions and remixes. His style has foundations in house, deep, progressive, and late night romance techno. Orazio is currently a dual major in Political Science and Psychology at Columbia University.
